What Does Ims Not Registered Mean

I am using ZUI 4.0.199 ST on rooted device. I am using Airtel as my primary network, but VoLTE is not working. When I checked IMS Service Status (by 3 dot menu after dialing *#*#4636#*#*) it shows Not Registered. I used my friend's Airtel SIM Card and VoLTE is working fine in that. It's IMS status is also showing Registered. Thus it is not the baseband or ROM or device spec issue. I searched many threads but didn't get any satisfactory solution. It would be great if anyone can guide me what to do.

P.S. For those people whose Airtel VoLTE is not working, please check your IMS service status because I can confirm that our device supports VoLTE service bands of Airtel in ZUI 4.0.199ST

VoLTE works on ZUI 4.0.199 ST

Dear All,

I was trying to enable VoLTE also in my custom ROM. I was using AEX 6.0. Below are the steps I followed:

1. I installed ZUI 2.5 using QFIL. Tried to enable VoLTE. It got enabled in the settings but the VoLTE or HD icon did not show up.
2. Then I installed ZUI 3.5.389 using QFIL. Tried to enable VoLTE. It got enabled in the settings but the VoLTE or HD icon did not show up.
3. Then I updated the ZUI to ZUI4.0.199 using OTA.Tried to enable VoLTE in settings but could not find any option in settings.
4. Then I downloaded and installed QuickShortcutMaker App. Using the App I enabled VoLTE (there were two places where I made changes). Still did not see VoLTE or HD icon. I tried restarting the phone and enabling/disabling the setting many many times but same result. Even I was getting the same IMS not registered error.
5. Contacted Airtel Customer Care. Told them that they need to do something at their end. They simply said that the device is not supported.
6. Next day, saw that my friend is using Airtel connection on OnePlus 6T with VoLTE enabled. I swaped the sim card.
7. After inserting his sim card in Z2 Plus, HD icon came automatically. When I inserted my sim card in OnePlus 6T, VoLTE was not there.
8. Called Customer Care one more time. Explained them the scenario. This time they registered the complaint.
9. VoLTE (HD was showing up) got enabled within an hour on my SIM and Z2 Plus.
10. Installed AEX 6.0 again and this time VoLTE was showing up in AEX also.

I have two Vodafone numbers for which volte is working in redmi 4 but not in z2_plus.

I am on Mi Max 3, Havoc 2.0. For past 3 days have been trying out everything in the forum. Will try sim swapping.

Which setting should be done to fix volte using my quickshortcut maker ? Please elaborate

Just use a different smartphone like redmi note 6 put it sim in it and call customer support for activation once volte start put it back to z2 it will work...
